Volunteers and Donations
None of our services can be sustained without the support of volunteer’s time. This can be in the form of service from home at a time that suites your lifestyle. It could be;
- a follow-up consultation to answer e-mail or Facebook queries;
- sharing only few minutes a day to check in on asylum seekers progress;
- offer emotional support to those in need;
- for the ‘word smiths’ assist in document compilation and Declaration drafting;
- share social or mainstream media information and pass it onto the team;
- help with research maintaining up to date evidence as new data become available;
- help maintain our Facebook or WWW presence;
- help with our merchandising plans;
- join at our next peaceful demonstration;
- if you’re of a legal inclination, help with a little ‘pro bono work’;
- help Springbok Relief raise funds by arranging events at your local church or prepare ‘koeksisters & vetkoek’ outside Bunning.
Donations from supporters and the general public will make such a significant difference to so many. We have encountered many instances where talented, humble Christian families with valuable skills and who promote our proud South African work ethic, simply do not have the financial means to pay for Visa’s, professional Migration Agency services let alone travel.
- We will strive to support these families on the undertaking that they will embrace the “pay it forward philosophy” and support Springbok Relief with their time and skills;
- Then we also have families who have the means but not the legal nor procedural insights or depth of supporting data and evidence for a successful claim during the complicated and often intimidating journey of Asylum seeking and beyond. Their donations to Springbok Relief will help ‘pay it forward’ so others who’s need is as desperate but who’s means are not as abundant, can receive sanctuary and support too.
- We will initiate a Crowd Funding page and pray that many will hear our call in our time of need and donate, as once we finalise registration as a charitable NGO with ASIC, ACAC and the ATO, your donations will be tax deductible.
We have faith, in Psalms 46 which says, “God is our refuge and strength”, a very present help in trouble. The reality is that there will be difficult times, but God promises to be our refuge. It goes on to add, “Be still and known that I am God”.
Anybody can make a difference by sharing our online presence to others, encourage debate and raise these desperate issues with your local representative as the more who know about the plight of our persecuted minority, the more we can save from intolerable conditions, cruel treatment, discrimination and prejudice.
